March 13, 2008 Western Arkansas Storms
I started out around 1pm and headed for Sallisaw, OK. I stayed in the Sallisaw for several hours until a little after 4pm when storms started to fire just NE of me. 18z RUC showed some storms breaking out here but at first I decided not to chase them as I had hope of more convection firing further to the SW. After looking at the visible satellite it was obvious storms probably weren't going to fire to the SW until after dark so I took off after the storms (they were about 20 miles east). The storms weren't moving too fast so I was able to catch them fairly quickly. I came upon quite a bit of hail on the road around Mulberry but the hail size looked fairly small (pea). Just past Mulberry I broke out in front of the storms but there wasn't much to see. It was all pretty elevated. I stayed around Ozark and got some daytime lightning. The hail pics below are from near Mulberry. Here is video and pictures.
