February 2011 Arkansas Waterfalls

February 11, 2011 - Bingham Hollow Falls Ice

I checked out Bingham Hollow to see how much ice had built up...it was amazing! While there the melting had begun and little balls of ice were rolling across the frozen pool.

February 12, 2011 - Glory Hole and Hemmed-In Hollow

I made the first footprints down to Glory Hole and Hemmed-In Hollow after the heavy snows. Glory Hole was frozen up pretty good and Hemmed-In was just amazing. There wasnt nearly as much water as the first time I visited but the wind blowing the water around was really neat. The melting increased the flow a bit while I was there.

February 18, 2011 - I hiked down to White Oak Falls to collect my time lapse camera and it was flowing really great! and also captured a nice moon halo

Here is the video of the time lapse:

February 19, 2011 - Waterfall Discovery!

I hiked down a drainage that Ive passed countless times and is just a few moments off the main road. I heard some water from where I parked and made my way down the steep slope to find another great tall waterfall! It looks to be 35-45ft tall and drops into a great looking pool. I found another nice waterfall downstream and several more in side drainages. There are also lots of neat bluffs.

February 21, 2011 - Hartman Bottoms Eagles

A couple of springs ago a storm tore down a huge Bald Eagle nest down in the Hartman Bottoms. I saw those Eagles raise a couple of different sets of birds. I hadnt seen them in a while so I was very happy to see them working on a new nest in the same area

February 24, 2011 - Storm Chase

I did my first storm chase in a while and while the storms didnt cooperate fully I did get this nice double daytime lightning down south of Malvern, AR
